In this lesson we'll go over the first 10 letters that are only in Cyrillic.

Transliteration: b
Sounds like: the "b" in Boy.



Always pronounced 'p' at the end of a word: хлеб, CHLEPP = "bread"

Г , г
Transliteration: g
Sounds like: the "g" in Game.



Pronounced as 'к' at the end of a word: "друг" DROO-K ="friend".

Look at these examples which demonstrate how the letters Б and Г are pronounced differently at the end of a word.

Arguable if it's English 'YEE' or more like 'EEyee'. Depends on the speaker.
